Yes, you read it right.
In Italian, "Pomodoro" is a reference to tomato.
Pomodoro technique, a popular time management tool, encourages students to alternate pomodoros (focused work sessions) with frequent brief breaks to keep their concentration and avoid mental tiredness. Millions of students have found that the Pomodoro Technique may change their lives for the better.
Setting a timer for a brief, focused burst of work on a single task is the first step. Many opt for a 25-minute session, although some prefer shorter sessions (e.g. 15 minutes), while others opt for longer sessions.
While the timer is ticking, give that work your complete attention — no distractions allowed!
When the timer sounds, take a 5-minute break – or even a little longer if you've chosen longer work periods.
Reset your timer and perform Steps 1-3 once more!
For those students who want to break their workday into manageable tomato-sized chunks, while also acquiring a better grasp of how long it will take them to accomplish the task, this Time Management technique is a good option.
