Barclays is hiring for the role of Workday Application Support Engineer!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Establish a production Support practice/discipline within Functions Technology GTSM and drive the agenda throughout the department whilst supporting the wider team objectives.
• Reduce MTTR (Mean Time to Repair) throughout the department and improve stability.
• Be consistently excellent at all we do and drive this mindset throughout the department – Make everything we touch better.
• Drive Full full-stack observability throughout the department and role model how this can be used to achieve our objectives and reduce MTTR.
• Drive the adoption of Automation and role model how this can be used to drive efficiencies, and consistency, reduce MTTR and TOIL and increase observability where possible to achieve our objectives.
• Manage technical excellence and accountability/ownership of the full stack that makes up our services.
• Collaborate with technical teams or vendors to resolve complex technical issues.
• Implement approved changes to improve system functionality and meet evolving business needs.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, changes, and issue resolutions.
• Create and update user guides and training materials.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot system-related issues, including errors, performance problems, and data discrepancies.
• Perform routine system maintenance activities, including applying updates, patches, and configuration changes.

Requirements:

• Experience in Workday Studio, EIB Bulk Uploads
• Serve as the primary point of contact for end-users, addressing their inquiries, issues, and requests related to Workday HCM/Finance.
• Provide timely and effective solutions to user problems
• Practical experience in supporting and maintaining production environments with distributed systems and highly available services in HCM/Workday
• Practical experience with Observability/Monitoring solutions (such as AppDynamics, Thousand Eyes, Splunk, ELK or similar
• Skills Required:
  • Experience working in either a Production Support or DevOps model would be desirable, however, if you don’t have experience but do have a passion and a demonstratable understanding of what it means we would still love to hear from you
  • Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals
  • Understanding of software skills such as design, development, maintenance, testing and software improvement
  • Flexibility to react effectively to changing priorities and a willingness to step outside of role boundaries to achieve results
  • Experience working in a financial services institution, or in a regulated enterprise-scale organisation
  • Workday certification or relevant training is a plus
  • Previous experience in application support, ideally with Workday HCM or Finance
