Mouser Electronics is hiring for the role of Trade Compliance Team Lead

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Team player and role model for the India Global Trade Compliance Data team while coordinating the workflow for individuals on the team across all processes from collection and classification of Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS Codes), Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCN) for the United States and Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS Codes) and ECCN type codes (ECCN) of other countries for the electronic products Mouser distributes.
• The position is also accountable for providing technical support to the team and performing ongoing problem analysis and resolution.
• Enforce the established process for data collection and classification for all team members.  This includes making sure that written communication is complete and legible in the workflow management software.
• Ensure that the data collected by the team is technically accurate and formatted as per approved documentation standards.
• Excellent in training and providing detailed guidance and support for new hires.  Strong teaching, analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, time management, and organizational skills.
• Provides feedback to management for training needs and process improvements. Possesses desire, personality, and ability to interact directly with team members and other business associates.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, verbal and non-verbal, with all levels of individuals and groups.
• Assists with the development of results-oriented strategies. Analyze the impact of decisions, actions and responses before execution while using good judgment with minimal supervision.
• Works closely with the manager and director of trade Compliance to Interpret Customs rulings, explanatory notes, and technical product drawings to determine correct classifications.
• Conduct weekly team meetings and drive team performance.
• Come up with process improvements to streamline the processes.

Requirements:

• Should have been leading a Team Size of 10 Members.
• Electronic Design, Systems Design, Test Engineering, or Electronic Component Engineering experience required.
• Experience in Harmonized Tariff Schedule, Technical Services, Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCNs).
• Experience in reading and using Technical Data Sheets and Product Guides.
• Read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals.
• Project-related status reports.
• Able to quickly learn new software applications and adapt to project-related process changes.
• Excellent interpersonal skills that can guide and direct a team while collaborating with Corporate Headquarters.
• Detailed and thorough in work habits with high multi-tasking and organizational skills.
• PC experience in a Microsoft Windows environment, proficient with internet e-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook and other software.
• Must be fluent in the English language, both verbal and written.
• Bachelor’s Degree in any field, or a minimum of 3 years prior work experience that is relevant to the team you will supervise.  Including:
• Internal candidates:  Minimum 1 year as a highly performing Lead/Coordinator or a total of 2 years as a highly performing Mouser employee.
• External candidates: Minimum 2 years as a supervisor or higher-level management position.
• [Preferably an Engineering Degree in Electrical/Electronic with 8 to 10 years of work experience in HTS Codes, and ECCNs.
• Knowledge/experience in U.S. Customs Regulations, U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
