Qualcomm is hiring for the role of Thermal Analysis Methodology Development Engineer!
Responsibilities of the Candidate:
- Encompassing SoC, package, and systems, for various Qualcomm products going into smartphones, laptops, automotive, and virtual reality headsets
- Developing strategies to predict and improve thermally constrained scores (AnTuTu/Geekbench) and also measuring/tuning them on post-Si platforms, including infrared imaging
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience OR
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 1+ year of Hardware Engineering or related work experience OR
- PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field
- Strong analytical skills and mathematical modelling abilities are required
- A thorough knowledge of heat transfer mechanisms and CFD is needed
- Proficiency with state-of-the-art thermal analysis tools – Ansys Icepak/Flotherm
- Any experience with thermal measurements, and thermal stack-up design for testing is a plus
- Good knowledge of scripting in PERL/Python is required; some exposure to Machine Learning algorithms/frameworks will be a plus
- Understanding the VLSI design process or expertise at the package or system level is a huge plus
