American Express is hiring for the role of Team Assistant!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Timely execution of fieldwork & testing of a core responsibility across all areas of laws – AML, Privacy, Anti-corruption, Consumer Protection and fairness, etc.
• Regular and timely dialogue and communication on the progress of the work and potential findings to the Manager Compliance Testing Team and local Market Compliance Officers.
• Ability to identify and communicate findings with senior stakeholders (Directors, VPs, etc) and obtain concurrence of the findings. Be confident with stakeholder management.
• From time to time, work with local Market Compliance officers to detect and identify emerging regulatory risks or impending legislation that may have an impact on the Compliance Monitoring Plan.

Requirements: 

• Good academic qualifications with experience in compliance or legal knowledge would be an added advantage. Chartered Accounts, CPA, ACAMS, MBA, and individuals with certifications in audit would be preferred.
• Minimum 2/3 of relevant experience in internal audit/consultancy within the Big Four or in a bank/financial institution with an Anti-Money Laundering background.
• Strong internal control and validating testing skills are a MUST.
• Ability to work independently from understanding the regulation, designing the test script, executing of fieldwork testing, communicating findings to business, and to reporting gaps.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills including the ability to conceptualize and break down complex issues into actionable tasks.
• High degree of organization, individual initiative, results and solution-oriented, and personal accountability and resiliency.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
