Citi Bank is hiring for the role of Tax Specialist!

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the overall management of the tax liabilities of Citi, both directly and in connection with transactions with clients, including the related compliance, financial reporting, planning, and controversy processes.
• Contributes to the planning, accounting, filing, and reporting of tax liability of the company.
• Assists in determining and compiling information required to satisfy income tax filing and related requirements at all levels of jurisdiction.
• May participate in managing payments to tax authorities in compliance with specific tax regulations.
• Performs relatively complex clerical assignments.
• Has a direct impact on the business by ensuring the quality of the tasks or services provided.
• Works under little to no direct supervision.
• Services an expansive and/or diverse array of products/services.
• Applies working knowledge of technical and professional philosophies and concepts and in-depth knowledge of team focus.
• Assigned duties contribute to the work of the team/unit and coordinate efforts and resources to achieve the objectives of the function.
• Ensures the quality and service of self and others.
• Seeks new options to enhance productivity per guidelines.
• Performs other duties and functions as assigned.
• Applies basic knowledge of the organization, the business, and its policies.
• Directs staff performing routine clerical or administrative work.
• Appropriately assesses risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct, and business practices, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency.

Requirements:

• Education: BCom/CA/MBA/Other Finance Masters and 1-2 years of relevant work experience in Tax operations or related discipline.
• Preferred: CA, CPA, or an equivalent Tax qualification preferred.
• Skills: Basic Understanding and working knowledge of IRS Forms W-9 and W-8 and information reporting rules, FATCA, and CRS.
• Ability to act as a change agent for the organization.
• Strong MS Office skills particularly Excel.
• Quick learner with excellent communication skills, team orientation, and ability to work with counterparts in different areas of the organization.
