About this Job
British Council is hiring for the role of System Engineer!
Responsibilities of the Candidate:
- Ensure availability of LAN, WAN, IPT, Internet connectivity, and other IT services
- Provide Local IT support to staff in 24 x 7 environment
- Responsible for IT inventory management
- Monitor GTI servers, O365, SharePoint Online, Defender, Video conferencing, and Mobile applications services and take corrective action
- Ensure daily backups of all servers including conducting test restores
- Ensure GTI systems with approved IT updates and software (IT software compliance)
- Ensure restricted access to the server room and physical security of IT equipment
- Coordinate with Global IS and process teams for IT operations
- Ensure timely first & second levels of support as per the pre-defined SLA\OLA
- Escalate any problems/issues to relevant teams as required and follow up
- Raise IT procurement requests on demand with adherence to British Council procurement policies
Requirements:
- Expert with an IT experience in desktop support and server administration.
- Networking and providing technical and business application support.
- Familiar with ITIL- Incident management process.
