Staff Engineer (CPU Verification Tools) Job in Bengaluru at Arm

Arm is hiring for the role of Staff Engineer (CPU Verification Tools)!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Build tools used in System Verification. This includes tools that auto-generate random self-tests (Random Instruction Sequences – RIS) as well as software/OS support to verify new features in the architecture.
• Take technical ownership of tool features development.
• Maintain a proficient knowledge of company processes to work constructively within given standards and methodologies.
• Work with partners on requirements and communicate progress.

Requirements:

• Good university Degree in Computer Science. Other Science/Engineering graduates with relevant expertise would be considered
• 8+ years of engineering experience in system software development or verification tools development (preferably RIS tools)
• Excellent C and C++ programming and debugging skills
• CPU and system architecture (ARM, x86, Power or other) knowledge, including but not limited to virtual memory, synchronization, atomicity, cache coherence, memory ordering etc
• Scripting experience (preferably Perl/Python)
• Familiarity with UNIX/Linux working environment
• Preferred:
  • Expertise in developing Random Instruction Sequence test generators for a multi-processor system with a very good understanding of architecture including memory coherency and ordering
  • Familiar with Embedded Software Development flows and standard methodologies
  • Experience of Arm-based System Designs
  • A basic understanding of Linux OS and kernels will be an added advantage
