Software Test Engineer Job in Ahmedabad at Qatar Airways

Qatar Airways is hiring for the role of Software Test Engineer!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Business Processes Understanding: Review and comprehend business processes, system development functional specifications, and non-functional requirements documents.

• Testing Artefacts Preparation: Create testing artefacts to ensure comprehensive coverage of both functional and non-functional requirements. This includes the development of test scenarios, test cases, test data, and defect reports.

• Defect Reporting: Report defects, providing detailed explanations of test cases and test scenarios to the development team.

• Development Team Support: Offer support to the development team in understanding defects and the data used for testing. Collaborate with the development team in root cause analysis.

• Testing Metrics Preparation: Generate software testing metrics, encompassing defect counts, status of defects, aging of defects, defects per module, etc.

• Test Case Execution: Ensure 100% execution of functional and non-functional system test cases.

• Interface and NFR Testing: Verify the testing of all application interfaces and non-functional requirement (NFR) items.

• Automation and Metrics Visibility: Automate the generation of relevant metrics to provide clear visibility into the quality of the testing process.

Requirements:

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree or Honors in Engineering/Computer Science/Mathematics/Sciences/Commerce or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of relevant job experience.

• Testing Life Cycle Expertise: Good understanding of the Software Testing Life Cycle, covering requirements analysis, test planning, test case development, test environment setup, test execution, and closure.

• Automation Skills: Hands-on experience in developing automation scripts and synthetic transactions using tools such as Selenium, Appium, and Cucumber. Automation skills in Selenium/Appium and Cucumber are considered advantageous.

• Technical Expertise: Provide technical expertise in Testing Methodologies, Testing Processes, Tools, and Techniques. Experience in disaster recovery testing, security testing, and usability testing is beneficial.

• Mobile App and Web Testing: Experience in testing mobile apps and websites using cloud platforms like BrowserStack.

• Monitoring and Metrics: Monitor all QA activities, test results, leaked defects, conduct root cause analysis, and identify areas of improvement. Gather and present testing metrics and activities to key stakeholders.

• Analytical Skills: Possess good analytical skills and demonstrate a continuous learning mindset for new business processes and systems. Focus on continuous QA improvements, including the use of appropriate testing tools and techniques.

• Automation Integration: Create automation scripts for test cases and ensure integration with CI/CD pipelines.
