BT Group is hiring for the role of Software Engineering Specialist!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Work with a team of engineers in the development and maintenance of BT’s Frontend Framework and Component library.
  
• Deliver measurable and innovative enhancements through new functionality or improvements to the existing codebase. You will accelerate time-to-market for delivery teams through re-use and streamlining architectural complexities, delivering code and componentry that directly enable key journey transformation and migration programs.
  
• Maintain a scalable development process and ensure any contributions meet our exacting standards.
  
• Work closely with engineering leads to plan and mitigate the technical challenges of large-scale updates. 
  
• Be a vocal champion for best practices and standards across the wider engineering community, holding and contributing to regular knowledge-sharing and support sessions. 
  
• Collaborate closely with all engineering teams to define technical requirements, evaluate technology options, and ensure scalability, performance, and accessibility – all in strong alignment with broader BT architectural principles. 
  
• Ensure team standards of engineering and operational excellence are upheld, establishing metrics and processes for regular assessment and improvement through the creation and implementation of processes and tools supporting multiple platforms. 
  
• Facilitate regular communication channels and forums for sharing engineering updates, knowledge, and insight. Work closely with our consumers on how it is working for their engineering teams.
  
• Identify and evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and frameworks that can enhance the capabilities and functionality of our team, adopting relevant new technologies, tools, methods, and processes that progressively advance the system's capabilities to its different stakeholders.
