LexisNexis is hiring for the role of Software Engineering Lead!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Serving as the initial point of escalation for software development issues within specific area of responsibility and Interfacing with other team members to finalize requirements.
• Writing and reviewing portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity.
• Working closely with other development team members to understand moderately complex product requirements and translate them into software designs.
• Implementing development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews. Operating in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders.
• Resolving complex technical issues as necessary and completing complex bug fixes.
• Mentoring and train entry-level software engineers as directed by department management, ensuring they have critical aspects of their roles. Carrying out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and applicable laws.

Requirements:

• Have knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
• Experience with various resource models such as Managed Services and/or Staff Augmentation.
• Able to partner and lead internal and external technology resources in solving complex business needs.
• Have test-driven development, research skills and proficiency with data manipulation language including optimization techniques.
• Have understanding of normalized/dimensional data modeling principles and Ability to design and work with complex data models. And knowledge of multiple data storage subsystems.
• Have coding capability in Java and best practices in development and lead internal and external technology in solving complex needs.
• Use and develop tool sets, write and review portions of detailed specifications and communicating implementing and achieving objectives and goals.
• Experience in project planning, time management, and change management skills and delegation skills.
• Have to prioritizing and reprioritizing projects and managing projects of various size and complexity.
• Have problem-solving, leading teams in identifying, researching, and coordinating the resources necessary to effectively troubleshoot/diagnose complex project issues and decision-making.
• Have communication and customer service skills and presenting information in a concise and effective manner to clients, managements.
