Google Inc. is hiring for the role of Software Engineer - Kernel, Chrome OS!
Responsibilities of the Candidates:
- Develop and release new versions of Chrome OS.
- Deliver new kernel releases for mature platforms and devices.
- Work with Linux to upstream features, fix bugs and crashes, and prevent regressions.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure to enable and accelerate kernel rebase and upgrade projects and maintain release quality and user experience by addressing stability, performance, and compatibility issues.
- Collaborate with other platform teams to triage and resolve issues and address security issues to ensure user data remains secure and threats are mitigated.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience in Linux Kernel or Linux system internals.
- Experience in coding languages such as C or C++.
- Experience in production kernel and/or OS development and debugging experience
- Experience in Linux and other open-source community contributions and upstream.
- Experience building consumer electronics
- Experience in Linux kernel backports, branch management, and platform/component specific.
