Vanderlande is hiring for the role of Software Engineer II (Inside Digital Twin Suite)!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Develop and maintain software applications primarily using Java, focusing on complex domains involving graphs (nodes and edges) and 3D emulative models.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including colleagues located globally, to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Participate actively in Agile development processes using tools like JIRA and Confluence.
• Manage source code effectively using Git (Bitbucket), SVN, or other distributed version control systems.
• Translate abstract concepts into detailed model requirements and specifications.
• Contribute to the onboarding and mentoring of new team members.
• Adapt to shifting project deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders and team members to ensure alignment and project success.
• Support software development in industrial environments such as baggage handling, warehouse control/execution, or logistics processes (preferred).
• Assist in planning, documentation, and continuous improvement of software engineering practices.
• Occasionally travel as required to support project or team needs.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a relevant field.
• 2-4 years of relevant software development experience.
• Minimum of 2 years hands-on experience developing in Java.
• Interest and experience working with graphs, 3D models, and complex software systems.
• Proficient with source control tools such as Git (Bitbucket), SVN, or equivalents.
• Familiarity with Agile tools like Atlassian JIRA, Confluence, and Agile methodologies.
• Experience with multiple Java IDEs, especially IntelliJ.
• Preferred experience in industrial software domains such as baggage handling or warehouse control.
• Understanding of logistics processes is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong interpersonal and team collaboration skills; enjoys helping team members grow.
• Ability to plan own work, align with the project team, and adapt smoothly to deadline changes.
• Fast learner with curiosity and strong inquiry mindset.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for work-related purposes
