Microsoft is hiring for the role of Software Engineer II!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to capture and document data requirements, and assess data costs, access, and availability for product feature scenarios. 
• Contribute to the project's data model and create design specification documents for data pipeline components. 
• Extract raw data from upstream sources using common query languages or tools, ensuring data accuracy and reliability. 
• Apply standard techniques to transform raw data into compatible formats for downstream data sources and databases. 
• Maintain compliance with data modeling and handling procedures to adhere to laws and policies, governing data accessibility within assigned pipelines and models. 

Requirements:

• A BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related field and 5+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering, building large data pipelines and systems on the Cloud. 
• Strong knowledge of data requirements, data modeling, data management, and data transformation. 
• Strong in SQL, data analysis, visualization, tools, and APIs. 
• Experience with performance monitoring protocols, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting guides. 
• Experience with data governance and compliance with applicable laws and policies.
• Knowledge and experience in data science, AI, or ML would be an added advantage.
