Anthology is hiring for the role of Software Engineer II!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Product Design & Development: Understand design for product enhancements and actively participate in design discussions. Develop enhancements based on business requirements.
• Business Requirement Analysis: Analyze business requirements, discuss impacted areas, and suggest solutions to resolve issues or areas of concern.
• Coding & Unit Testing: Code and unit test product enhancements to ensure stability and functionality.
• Product Stabilization: Maintain and stabilize the product suite by identifying and addressing potential issues.
• SCRUM Participation: Actively participate in SCRUM ceremonies, providing constructive suggestions and inputs.
• Code Quality: Develop testable, reusable, efficient, and legible code for product suite enhancements.
• Root Cause Analysis: Analyze root causes of issues and suggest areas for improvement.
• Team Commitment: Contribute towards meeting team commitments and achieving project milestones.
• Mentoring: Coach and mentor Associate Software Engineers to improve their skills and performance.

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar technical discipline, or equivalent demonstrable experience.
• Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience in software development.
• Front-End Skills:
  • Strong experience with object-oriented JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with JavaScript libraries and micro frameworks like AJAX, jQuery, Angular, Prototype, and NodeJS.
• Back-End Skills:
  • Proficient in object-oriented ASP.Net and other libraries and micro frameworks.
• Cloud & Microservices: Knowledge of cloud-based microservices design and architecture.
• Web Development: Fundamental understanding of HTML/CSS3, including transformations, transitions, and event-driven design.
• Industry Experience: Previous experience in the education or knowledge management industry, particularly with e-learning technologies, is a plus.
• Agile Experience: Strong understanding of the agile software development process and methods.
• Additional Skills:
  • Experience with AngularJS or React.
  • Proficient in using code versioning tools like Git/GitHub.
  • Working knowledge of behavior-driven development (BDD).
