Tower Research is hiring for the role of Software Engineer II!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Driving the technical architecture strategy for web-based solutions in the Pricing team. The team computes price estimates for various asset classes across the firm’s trading universe which are used for various risk checks including the P&L calculations.
• Working proactively with various pricing providers (in and outside the firm) and other stakeholders globally to develop data pipelines and end-to-end web solutions that consolidate and publish pricing data.
• Ensuring that the architecture is robust, scalable, maintainable, and secure.
• Proposing and developing key performance metrics to drive design decisions, identify performance bottlenecks, and monitor application stability.
• Designing and developing new frontend solutions for the Pricing team.
• Leveraging and fine-tuning appropriate ETL, database, and API/Web solutions.
• Investigating data to identify potential issues within ETL pipelines, notify end-users, and propose and build adequate solutions.

Requirements:

• A bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science or a related field
• At least 2-4 years of full stack experience with building enterprise-grade web-based solutions, preferably having built such solutions from scratch
• Experience in technically leading or mentoring team members is a must
• Strong database knowledge (query performance tuning, index maintenance, etc.) as well as a good understanding of data modeling principles
• Strong experience in building ETL pipelines using Kafka, Airflow, etc.
• Strong expertise working with web services (experience in Python-based frameworks like Django, Flask, FastAPI, etc. is a plus)
• Strong Linux skills and ability to pick up new data tools and concepts quickly
• Experience in data analytics tools like pandas.
• Experience in client-side Javascript and web-based UI frameworks
• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
