Alight is hiring for the role of Software Engineer I!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Work with development teams and product managers to ideate software solutions.
• Ability to spearheads the story development from inception to definition of done – with less dependency on Tech Lead
• Applying coding practices (including secure code guidelines) through the implementation of unit tests, automation and code reviews
• Ensure requirement coverage in the code
• Troubleshooting issues and proactively solving problems as they arise
• Actively work with Product Owner and other team members (such as a Tech Lead) to refine, integrate and demo the deliverables
• Understands the business purpose of the feature and story
• Works with the Software QAs at the start to understand what is expected
• Build the front-end of applications through appealing visual design.
• Develop and manage well-functioning databases and applications.
• Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency.
• Exposure to security aspects of the application.
• Build features and applications with web & mobile responsive design.
• Write technical documentation.
• Optimize web applications for performance and scalability.

Requirements:

• Proven experience 2-4 years as a Full Stack Developer or similar role
• Hands on experience in Core Java (JDK 11 or above),Wicket, struts, J2EE (JSP, Servlets), Spring Boot
• Microservices Architecture, REST
• Hands on experience with Design Patterns, Architecture, Low level Design, Test Driven Development, Dependency Injection, Mocking,
• Foundation level knowledge of US Health Benefit domain will be added advantage
• Familiarity with databases (e.g. MySQL, MongoDB), web servers (e.g. Apache) and UI/UX design
• Experience developing desktop and mobile applications.
• Knowledge of multiple front-end languages and libraries (e.g. HTML/ CSS, JavaScript, XML, jQuery)
• Knowledge of back-end language(e.g. Java, Python) and JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Angular, React, Node.js)
• Experience with core AWS web-enabling technologies.
• Excellent knowledge of Hibernate/JPA
• Experience with the Spring Boot framework
• Experience building RESTful API microservices.
• Exposure to streaming / messaging tool like Kafka
• Exposure to deployment tools, containerization & Kubernetes.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes is an advantage.
• Experience using AI Based Developer tools including Agentic AI will be an advantage.
