Software Engineer, Chrome OS Firmware Job in Bangalore at Google

Google is hiring for the position of Software Engineer, Chrome OS Firmware!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Work with a larger team of engineers and product managers to design and develop firmware features.
• Participate in board bring-ups and work with partners to deliver new ChromeOS devices.
• Evaluate and help improve firmware code and processes for scalability and maintainability.
• Collaborate with a global team of software and hardware engineers on new technology proposals and process improvements.
• Maintain the high-quality bar by increasing unit and integration test coverage.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree
• 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting
• Experience with Linux, device drivers, and embedded programming in C
• Experience building consumer electronics and knowledge of manufacturing, supply chain, and customer support processes
• Experience with Linux development environment and git/Gerrit tools
• Experience developing in coreboot, Zephyr OS, or other open-source projects
• Experience bringing up USB-C stack, sensors, and other peripherals
• Ability to read hardware schematics and investigate hardware issues
