Goldman Sachs is hiring for the role of Software Engineer Associate!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Develop and implement innovative capabilities within the Concert ecosystem to support global trading and risk platforms.
• Refactor, enhance, and maintain existing application components to improve performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Design and build high-performance, distributed trading applications using Java within a service-oriented architecture.
• Ensure system resiliency, fault tolerance, and low-latency performance for mission-critical financial applications.
• Provide platform-as-a-service (PaaS) support to internal clients, enabling efficient development and deployment.
• Collaborate with global engineering, product, and infrastructure teams across the development lifecycle.
• Adhere to Goldman Sachs’ engineering standards, emphasizing code quality, security, and best practices.
• Troubleshoot, optimize, and resolve complex production issues in a fast-paced trading environment.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and continuous improvement of the Concert platform.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a closely related engineering discipline.
• 1-3+ years of professional experience in software development and engineering.
• Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex challenges into robust software solutions.
• Strong proficiency in core Java development, including expertise with common testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit),  Spring
• Solid understanding and practical experience with distributed systems and messaging frameworks, such as Apache Kafka.
• Proficiency in database technologies, including NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB) and relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL).
• A strong passion for continuous learning and adapting to new technologies and skillsets as required.
