HSBC is hiring for the role of Software Engineer!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Undertake activities on Design and Development (CTB) as well as Production Processing Support (RTB) fronts.
• Provide support across the end-to-end delivery, utilizing the skills and expertise to carry out software development, testing, and Production Deployment (Change Management Principles) activities with the ability to move between these according to demand.
• Ensure all data and process management aspects are considered in the development cycle. Change and Execution Backout capability, Housekeeping, Data Retention, Disposal and Archival configuration, etc.
• Create robust technical design and a strategy for the development of new components to meet requirements and create automated processes to ensure quality code and data.
• Responsible for automating the continuous integration / continuous delivery pipeline within a DevOps Product/Service team driving a culture of continuous improvement. Also, should be aware of the various code scanning tools and processes, and findings and provide meaningful remediation solutions.
• Ensure the service resilience, service sustainability, and recovery time objectives are met for all the software solutions delivered. Actively participate in and drive the mandatory exercises from time to time on resilience, recovery, and service management.
• Responsible for Infrastructure and Environment Management for Health Monitoring, Patching, Compliance and Vulnerabilities. The role demands working in shifts and providing On-Call support to the production system.

Requirements:

• Hands-on experience in working on Data Consumption, Processing and Reporting Systems
• Preferred Technology Skills – SQL, PL/SQL, Shell Scripting, Python, Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery
• Ability to translate business-level requirements to system-level components or blocks, and do coding, and testing accordingly, and deliver quality products to the stakeholders (internal and external).
• Ability to review the deliverables from other team members and should be able to provide constructive feedback to the team and manage assignments effectively.
• Having a good understanding of CI/CD Pipelines, Experience in Jenkins Pipeline Development and GitHub, Branching Strategy, Build Management, Code Management, etc.
• Ability to manage & communicate with various stakeholders which could be Business Users, Change Delivery, Audit Representatives, etc. Ability to work with diverse teams.
• Should be able to work in Shifts and provide On-Call support to production activities, have a good knowledge of incident management, and ability to lead the team from the front during incident/crisis calls.
• The candidate will be required to continually enhance the skills within several specialisms which include gaining business knowledge, vendor product understanding, Impact Assessments, Development, Code Scanning, and Deployments along with operational / business support.
