Firstsource Solutions is hiring for the role of Software Engineer!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Understand how to maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize legacy applications developed in PICK Basic
• Debug PICK Basic applications and CUBS-specific modules to identify and resolve system issues
• Customize the CUBS system based on business requirements, such as adding new features, workflows, or reports
• Design, modify, and run reports within the CUBS system, utilizing PICK Basic for scripting and data extraction
• Ensure data integrity through proper validation checks, error handling, and reconciliation in the CUBS system

Requirements:

• Project Management and Collaboration skills
• Ability to modernize CUBS processes through enhancement of current functionality, the development of new capabilities, or the migration to new platforms
• Strong documentation skills for creating technical manuals, program specifications, and user guides
• Effective communication with non-technical stakeholders, to gather requirements and provide updates on system changes
• The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
• Business Domain Knowledge
• Familiarity with debt collection and accounts receivable processes to understand the business context of the CUBS system
• Knowledge of integrating CUBS with accounting and financial systems, ensuring seamless data flow, billing, and collections reporting
• Soft Skills
• High attention to detail when working with financial data and legacy code, ensuring accuracy and minimizing errors
• Ability to work closely with other technical teams, as well as end users, to ensure changes align with business goals and operational needs
• Technical Skills in PICK Basic
• In-depth knowledge of PICK Basic including syntax, commands, and structures specific to this language
• A strong understanding of the MultiValue database environment specifically Universe and its architecture
• Experience in using dynamic arrays and string manipulation, which are core components of PICK Basic
• Familiarity with MultiValue querying languages like AQL or SQL-like queries for MultiValue databases
• Hand-on experience with CUBS including its architecture, workflows, and functionalities
• CUBS system specific skills
• Strong skills in debugging PICK Basic applications and CUBS-specific modules to identify and resolve system issues
• Experience in data migration, including extracting data from the CUBS system and converting it to modern formats or integrating with other enterprise applications
