Flipkart is hiring for the role of Software Development Engineer III!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers. Drive best practices in software development, code reviews, and agile methodologies.
• System Design: Architect and design complex, high-performance, and scalable systems to support the growing demands of the grocery business.
• Development and Deployment: Write high-quality, maintainable code and lead efforts to deploy software solutions to production environments.
• Own Functional Areas: Own a functional area from product conception to delivery. Given a fuzzy product requirement, work with other stakeholders and product teams to understand, refine, and transform them into technical requirements.
• Design and Documentation: Prepare high-level designs under guidance and document them.
• Independently create low-level designs and code across multiple tech components related to the functional area.
• Tech Stack and Optimization: Choose the right tech stack for given situations with guidance from senior team members. Optimize existing microservices and take non-functional requirements (Reliability & Availability, Scale, horizontal scalability) into consideration when making decisions.
• Quality and Collaboration: Ensure the quality of code, unit test coverage, and documentation.
• Collaborate with teams by contributing to the shared vision and working closely with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Mentorship: Build, develop, mentor, and coach junior team members.

Requirements:

• B.Tech or M.Tech equivalent with at least 5 years experience, with a strong background in building large-scale, distributed systems.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages (Java, Python, C++), and experience with databases (SQL, NoSQL), microservices architecture, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong object-oriented design skills, ability to apply design patterns, and an uncanny ability to design intuitive module and class-level interface Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
