Avalara is hiring for the role of Software Development Engineer II!
Responsibilities of the Candidate:
- Design, code, and increase different parts (microservices) of our compliance cloud.
- Convert product vision and requirements into the finished product.
- Enhance the primary tax computation engine.
- Build connectors to integrate it with e-commerce systems.
- Develop AI models to automate the creation of tax rules.
- Engineer our multi-cloud core SAAS platform.
- Collaborate with global dev teams across multiple locations.
- Work in an open, collaborative environment.
- Report to the Senior Engineering Manager.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in software design.
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages such as C#, Java or JavaScript.
- Experience approaching a problem from different angles, analysing pros and cons of different solutions and to be and critical production issues.
- Solid experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, XML, and other data interchange formats.
- Experience with AWS services and managing CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with a relational database such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle
