Avalara is hiring for the role of Software Development Engineer I2 !

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Design, code, and enhance various parts (microservices) of our compliance cloud
• Convert product vision and requirements into a finished product
• Work on diverse projects to improve tax compliance efficiency for businesses globally
• Enhance the primary tax computation engine and build connectors to integrate with e-commerce systems
• Develop AI models to automate the creation of tax rules
• Engineer a multi-cloud core SaaS platform
• Collaborate in an open, global, and diverse environment
• Report to the Senior Engineering Manager

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in software design
• Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages such as C#, Java or JavaScript
• Experience approaching a problem from different angles, analysing pros and cons of different solutions and to be and critical production issues
• Solid experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, XML, and other data interchange formats
• Experience with AWS services and managing CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with a relational database such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle
