Ciena is hiring for the role of Software Developer!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Develop and maintain APIs to facilitate data exchange and integration between different systems and applications.
• Write high-quality, scalable, and efficient code to implement new features and enhance existing software solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand integration requirements and design effective solutions.
• Perform API testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure the reliability and performance of the integrated systems.
• Identify opportunities for process automation and develop automation scripts or tools to streamline workflows.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and best practices in software development, APIs, and automation.
• Document code, APIs, and integration processes to ensure easy understanding and maintainability.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain code quality.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in software development, API creation, automation, and integration.
• Experience with API design and development using REST, SOAP, or other protocols.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Power Automate (formerly known as Microsoft Flow) with a proven track record of developing automated solutions using the platform.
• Familiarity with database systems and SQL queries for data retrieval and manipulation.
• Knowledge of software development best practices, version control systems, and agile methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and debug complex integration issues.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
