D E Shaw & Co. is hiring for the role of Software Developer!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Execute individual projects and deliverables, collaborating with business groups to align technical solutions with business objectives.
• Conduct research and development (R&D) to evaluate and select appropriate technologies for specific project needs.
• Resolve application and data issues in production, ensuring timely and efficient resolution within set timelines.
• Oversee the full project lifecycle, including requirement gathering, design, development, deployment, and client delivery.
• Provide mentorship, direction, and guidance to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and learning-oriented environment.
• Actively participate in code and design reviews to ensure high-quality deliverables and adherence to best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and fulfill the trading desk’s needs throughout the life cycle of a trade.
• Contribute to the research, design, development, and standardization of technologies for firm-wide adoption.
• Continuously improve and optimize existing software solutions for performance and scalability.

Requirements:

• The candidate should have robust experience in C++/Java/Python, in addition to some or all of the following: React, Redux, RESTful Web Services, Perl, messaging middleware, and databases (SQL Server).
• Candidates having experience in Spring, Mybatis/Hibernate, jQuery, JavaScript and deployment architecture will have an added advantage.
• The ideal candidate should have excellent problem-solving and analytical skills as well as a demonstrated passion for technology.
• The candidate should have excellent reasoning ability and good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Candidates should have an inclination or prior experience in project or people management.
