LSEG is hiring for Site Reliability Engineer role!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Identify performance bottlenecks, analyze system behavior, and propose solutions to optimize the platform’s performance. This includes supervising system resources, conducting performance testing, and fine-tuning system configurations. Analyze Oracle AWR reports to identify performance issues.
• Collaborate with collaborators, such as application owners, infrastructure teams, and business users, to resolve future capacity requirements of the Murex-based platform. This involves analyzing historical usage patterns, growth projections, and business demands to ensure the system can handle growing loads without performance degradation.
• Assess the Murex-based platform’s scalability and availability to handle peak loads and ensure high uptime. Design and implement strategies to scale the system horizontally or vertically based on demand, implement clustering solutions, and ensure failover and disaster recovery mechanisms are in place.
• Define and test non-functional requirements for the Murex-based platform. This includes testing and verifying performance targets, response time thresholds, throughput requirements, alerting mechanisms, and other relevant criteria to meet business expectations.
• Apply SRE principles to enhance the reliability, availability, and scalability of the application.
• Performance Testing: Develop and implement performance testing strategies, scenarios, and automation scripts, playbooks to evaluate the system's performance under various workloads. Conduct load, stress, and endurance testing to identify potential issues and validate performance improvements.
• Investigate and fix performance issues reported by users or detected through monitoring tools like Geneos. Perform root cause analysis to identify underlying issues, propose corrective actions, and collaborate with development and infrastructure teams for resolution.
• Implement and maintain performance monitoring tools and dashboards to track key performance indicators (critical metrics), system health, and resource utilization through Geneos, and Datadog. Proactively identify anomalies or deviations from expected performance patterns and take appropriate actions to rectify them.
• Maintain documentation related to performance and volume testing, optimization activities, and performance improvement recommendations. Prepare performance reports and communicate findings, recommendations, and progress to stakeholders, and technical teams

Education:

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

Required skills and experience

• Must have demonstrable experience as a Performance Engineer with a focus on a Murex-based platform, ideally in a financial services environment with a deep understanding of Oracle AWR reports and site reliability engineering principles
• Must have a solid understanding of performance testing methodologies and monitoring tools like Geneos, Datadog, etc.
• Must have proficiency in SQL, Oracle AWR reports, Linux and experience with database performance tuning.
• Proficiency in Scripting skills (UNIX shell scripting: bash, korn shell) and automation to enhance monitoring.
• An understanding of Murex platform architecture, including data model, workflows, and performance optimization techniques will be a nice to have.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve sophisticated performance issues.
• Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work efficiently in multi-functional teams.
• Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to prioritize and lead multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, with Collaborative team spirit.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies is a plus.
• Experience in a Post Trade or Clearing service environment.
• Familiarity with financial products and financial terms
