Flipkart is hiring for the role of Site Reliability Engineer 2!

Responsibilities of the Candidate :

• Infrastructure Automation: Design and implement automated provisioning, scaling, monitoring, and recovery solutions for Hadoop/HDFS and Dataproc clusters on GCP using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform).
• Data Pipeline Resilience: Own the end-to-end reliability of high-volume, low-latency Kafka pipelines, ensuring fault tolerance, durability, and smooth data flow to downstream processing layers.
• Performance Optimization: Deeply tune and optimize the performance of batch jobs by advising on optimal storage formats (Parquet, ORC) and table definitions (Iceberg, Delta Lake) to minimize I/O and compute consumption.
• Toil Reduction: Develop software and scripts to automate recurring operational tasks, capacity planning, and configuration management across the data platform.
• Monitoring & Observability: Establish comprehensive Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Service Level Indicators (SLIs) for the data processing infrastructure, building advanced alerting and dashboarding solutions.
• Incident Management: Respond to and resolve complex incidents affecting data platform availability or integrity, performing blameless post-mortems to drive permanent systemic improvements.

Requirements :

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
