BT Group is hiring for the role of Service Reliability Engineering Specialist!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Leading the Mobile Innovation Labs Service Reliability community driving and shaping business and customer-specific ITIL outcomes using tooling, automation & process improvements; ensuring information is captured, recorded, and actioned and that data is available to stakeholders to enable them to become more efficient.
• Collaborating with the Mobile Innovation Labs Change, Configuration, Incident, Automation, and Security teams to drive and shape business and customer-specific ITIL activities and information is current and accurate.
• Working with various functional engineering, testing, and operations teams to ensure an always-on environment for testing, and communicate and mitigate issues and deltas in the testing environment to enable action.
• Building and maintaining relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
• Communicating with stakeholder groups on delivery progress, blockers, and adjusted business critical requirements.
• Supporting the Continuous Improvement process and discipline, ensuring priority to those that have a customer or commercial benefit.
• Identifying opportunities for utilizing automation to reduce the number of manually completed repetitive tasks.
• Supporting the lab's Continuous Improvement management process and discipline, ensuring priority to those that have a customer or commercial benefit.
• Supporting the development of new and existing tools and systems roadmap development, identifying opportunities for further automation.
• Acting as a change agent to support cross-functional peers to work collaboratively to deliver and maintain best-in-class physical environments, core, access, and transport elements, as appropriate, as well as the products and services to protect the customer experience.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science (engineering) or any other relevant field
• ITIL foundation certificate, plus significant experience operating within a service management team in the telcos space
• Demonstrable knowledge in the adaption and use of Service Now, Jira, and/or HP ALM (QC)
• Experience within a mission-critical 24/7 production environment or critical 8/5 environment
• Significant experience of embedding continual improvement of core operational and service processes including providing software engineering expertise in this area. Python, SQL, or similar automation scripting experience
• Delivery experience/understanding of waterfall and agile delivery methods.
• The ability to plan work efficiently and to meet strict deadlines
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Confident interacting with internal and external customers and suppliers at all levels
• Agile, Scrum, ISTQB, PRINCE2, or relevant software testing experience or qualification
• Network tracing and troubleshooting knowledge (NetScout, Wireshark, or similar)
• DevOps experience
