Senior Welding Engineer Job in Gandhinagar at Larsen & Toubro

Larsen & Toubro is hiring for the role of Senior Welding Engineer!

Responsibilities of the candidate:

• Provide technical inputs to estimation & PMG during job enquiry stage.
• Study of Customer specifications & drawings; Provide related welding and metallurgy related inputs to design, NDT, PMG & QC.
• Provide inputs of weld edge preparation, welding process selection etc to design during drawing preparation stage.
• Welding consumable estimation & procurement for projects after receipt of manufacturing drawings.
• Inputs to PMG for requirement of material for PQR, Welding development mockups, welder qualification coupons etc.
• Preparation of project specific welding procedures viz., General Welding Procedure, Welding Repair Procedures, Post weld heat treatment procedures etc
• Preparation of Weld Procedure Specification (WPS), Shop weld plan & Test Plan. Preparation of test plan in PLM and approval from customer for SUP special projects.
• Provide disposition and technical inputs wherever necessary for NCR & DCR.
• Troubleshooting of welding and metallurgy related issues in shop floor as well as vendor’s place
• Preparation and issue of Shop weld repair plan.
• Proactive shop rounds, providing technical support and guidance to production center.
• Training to shop & yard supervisors, welders & shop store supervisor for project specific requirement.
• Monitoring of welding consumable usage.
• Review and approval of Weld consumable data (WCD) in PLM.
• Inputs to PMG for requirement of material for PQR, Welding mockups for heat treatment if any
• Preparation of heat treatment procedure
• Approval of HTR
• Input for arrangement of thermocouple for respective HTR.
• Execution of heat treatment (if any) in welding procedure qualification or welding mockups
• Metallurgical analysis of failure in welding, base metal during fabrication.
• Preparation of failure analysis report
• Technical support to casting and forging vendors

Requirements:

• Qualification: B.Tech/B.E OR M.Tech
• Knowledge: Welding
• Experience: 1-3 Years
