Senior Virtualization and Operating Systems Engineer Job in Bangalore at Hewlett Packard

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is hiring for the role of Senior Virtualization and Operating Systems Engineer!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Responsible for creating and maintaining the Containerized/Virtual operating systems for HPE
• Storage System. Customize device OSs to meet Engineering and Market requirements.
• Works in a team environment, closely collaborating with the software and hardware engineering team. Provides support for members of the engineering team and other departments as required
• Virtualize software defined systems and connecting them to networks and clouds
• Exposure to cloud technologies and development model would be added advantage
• Build, configure and deploy VMs and templates and container images
• Release completed designs to production through standard Engineering procedures
• Develop support tools and scripts necessary to simplify product deployment, setup and bootstrapping

Requirements:

• .A strong attention to detail and through knowledge of OS configuration and deployment is required for this position
• To ensure success as a Virtual OS engineer, you should exhibit sound knowledge of Virtualization and related technologies, and experience in a similar role
• Architect, design, install, configure, monitoring and maintenance virtual storage appliances including SAN, NAS, Replication appliances Developing, building  and customize the solutions on virtualized container stack like docker/ podman and KVM
• Optimizing networking stack and software to enable developing and deploying customized Virtualization solutions
• Engineering or master’s degree in computer science, or  Systems Engineering or information technology, or  similar field. Preferred to have at least five years’ experience in OS stack development, maintenance  and deployment
• Great organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
• Good understanding of Storage, RAID & Virtualization layer
• Expertise in  C and RTOS. Very good understanding of Linux, system programming, including multi-threading and inter-process communications.
• Scripting skills, including one or more of bash, Python
• Source control tools (e.g. Git, github…).
• Storage domain (SAS/NVMe/SATA) background preferable
• Knowledge or experience of public cloud offering (AWS, GCP, Azure) preferred.
• Protocols: SCSI, FC, NVMe, SMP,TCP/IP, I², PCI
