Senior Sub Editor - English Job in Bangalore at Lexiconn

Lexiconn is hiring for the position of Senior Sub Editor - English.

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Help create accurate and high-quality copy across all publishing platforms.
• Work on new-age video creation tools to create short news video capsules.  
• Work to enhance the quality of content within tight deadlines.
• Work on AI-supported tools and an evolving CMS with skill, intuition, and agility.  
• Work on AI-supported tools and an evolving CMS with skill and agility  
• Simplify communication and rework copy (as needed) for varying demographics.  
• Edit copy for varying lengths and adhere to various platform-specific guidelines.  
• Ensure alignment of content to brand requirements and tonality.  
• Work on creating, moderating & ideating for the coverage of Spike events, LIVE Shows, etc.

• Minimum three years of experience working in a newsroom, covering core news.
• Ability to identify news stories that will capture the attention of the audience and know how to prioritize them within limited space.  
• Know-how to rewrite headlines and summaries to make them catchy and engaging for the target audience.  
• Up to date with global news by reading from various sources and having knowledge of the main headlines of the day.
• Deep understanding of various content apps and social media platforms to create engaging content.  
• Quick learner and adopter of innovative technologies, including AI-supported tools and CMS systems.
• Should be comfortable working on weekends and have flexible working hours to ensure the requirements of a dynamic newsroom are met. The newsroom works 365 days a year, while individuals work on five out of seven days.  
• Should be open to working in a hybrid work setup and report to the Bengaluru office at least three days a week to collaborate, brainstorm, and implement innovative ideas to make the feed more dynamic.
• Some knowledge or interest in CMS tools and picture curation will be an added advantage.
