Senior Platform Engineer (Linux /VMware) Job in Pune at Mastercard

Mastercard is hiring for the role of Senior Platform Engineer (Linux / VMware)!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Represent the team in meetings, and provide advice, updates, training, and technical support.
• Work with our internal stakeholders to understand automation, and requirements and implement solutions using available tool sets and scripting languages.
• Administer, support, and maintain enterprise Monitoring tools in a multi-tier environment.
• Build Automation solutions using available toolsets and scripting languages.
• Maintain technical support documents for all built solutions and processes.
• Troubleshoot Virtualization, Unix/Linux/Storage systems, and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational problems utilizing associated Linux and UNIX command line and management tools.
• Maintain a broad knowledge of state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems.
• Support business disaster recovery procedures for assigned areas of responsibility.
• Document duties and procedures to aid the department in cross-training and absentee coverage.
• Work with technical engineering teams to manage and improve processes.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (Engineering) or any other relevant field.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience working with Virtualization, Linux/Unix, and Storage technologies.
• Strong experience with VMware capacity planning and Linux administration.
• Experience with distributed storage technologies (SAN, NAS, iSCSI, FC, NFSv4, Brocade, NVMe, Software-defined Storage technologies)
• Ability to troubleshoot involving VMware, Software-defined storage, SAN, NAS, Linux/Unix, and Web technologies.
• Experience with computing technologies (Blade and Rackmount server)
• Proven ability to write scripts in an administrative language (bash, shell, Python, etc).
• Strong understanding of network protocols and experience with network troubleshooting.
• Exposure to using Enterprise monitoring tools for the supervision of Compute, Storage, OS, and Application stack technologies. 
• Experience working with mission-critical platforms and systems with 24/7 availability.
• Familiarity with system and network security principles and best practices.
• Basic understanding of Infrastructure as a Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Chef, Salt, Puppet, Ansible, VMware vRealize Automation, etc.
• Knowledge of CI/CD Pipelines and practices.
• Experience working with Mission critical platforms and systems with 24/7 availability.
• Expert problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
