Senior Manager / Manager – Electrical (Coke Oven & By-Product Plant) Job in Chandrapur at Lloyds Metals & Energy Ltd

Key Responsibilities

1. Electrical Operation & Maintenance:

• Oversee operation and maintenance of all electrical systems, panels, drives, and motors across:
• Coke Oven Battery & Pusher Car
• Charging Car, Quenching Car, Transfer Car
• CDQ (Coke Dry Quenching) System
• Gas Handling & By-Product Recovery Systems
• Conveyors, Fans, Compressors, and Substations
• Ensure reliable performance of HT/LT systems, transformers, switchgear, control panels, and lighting networks.
• Conduct regular inspection, testing, and preventive maintenance of electrical distribution systems (33kV/11kV/415V).

2. Maintenance Planning & Reliability:

• Prepare and implement preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance schedules.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for failures and take corrective actions.
• Ensure spare parts planning, AMC management, and equipment calibration.
• Supervise maintenance during shutdowns and major overhauls.
• Maintain maintenance records in SAP / CMMS for analysis and reporting.

3. Project & Modification Works:

• Support and supervise electrical installation, commissioning, and modification projects.
• Implement automation and modernization initiatives (VFD, PLC/DCS integration).
• Prepare technical specifications and assist in vendor evaluation and equipment procurement.
• Ensure project execution within budget, schedule, and safety norms.

4. Energy Management:

• Monitor power consumption and load distribution across the Coke Oven and CDQ.
• Optimize specific energy consumption (kWh/t coke) and power factor improvement.
• Coordinate for energy audits and implement identified saving measures.
• Promote energy-efficient technologies and systems (LED, high-efficiency motors, etc.).

5. Safety & Compliance:

• Enforce strict adherence to electrical safety rules (IE Rules, IS standards) and plant SOPs.
• Ensure implementation of LOTO, PTW, and Arc Flash protection procedures.
• Regularly audit and inspect substations, cables, and electrical systems for potential hazards.
• Support compliance with ISO 45001 (Safety), ISO 14001 (Environment), and statutory inspections.

6. Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain updated SLDs (Single Line Diagrams), equipment manuals, and test records.
• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly maintenance performance reports, power reports, and downtime analysis.
• Track equipment history cards and spare consumption for cost control.
• Present maintenance KPIs and improvement action plans to department head.

7. Team Management:

• Lead and develop a team of engineers, supervisors, and technicians.
• Plan shift rosters and manpower allocation.
• Conduct skill development programs on electrical safety, troubleshooting, and energy efficiency.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

• Coke Pusher Car, Charging Car, Quenching Car Drives
• CDQ Fans, Conveyors, Cooling Towers
• Gas Compressors and Recovery Units
• LT/HT Motors, Transformers, MCCs, PCCs
• Switchgear (ACB, VCB, SF6 Breakers), Relays, and PLC Panels
• Power Distribution (33kV / 11kV / 415V) and Lighting Systems

Qualifications:

• B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering from a recognized university.
• Sound understanding of electrical systems, protection, and automation in process industries.

Experience:

• Manager: 8–12 years of experience in electrical maintenance of Coke Oven / Ironmaking / Process Plant in an Integrated Steel Plant.
• Sr. Manager: 12–16 years of experience in similar functions with proven leadership in maintenance and project execution.
• Exposure to CDQ system, By-Product Plant, and modern control systems (PLC/DCS – Siemens/ABB) preferred.

Technical Skills:

• Operation & maintenance of HT/LT switchgear, transformers, and drives (VFDs).
• Hands-on experience in PLC/DCS troubleshooting, SCADA monitoring, and relay testing.
• Knowledge of power system analysis, harmonics, and load balancing.
• Familiar with SAP-PM, MS Office, and maintenance documentation systems.
