HSBC is hiring for the role of Senior Data Analyst!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Understanding complex issues and reviewing large amounts of data to identify the appropriate action/ solution.
• Working collaboratively with other teams across MDM within and outside of base location to perform core day to day activities as well as identifying, understanding, and communicating, issues or challenges that may occur and where possible recommending actions to manage or resolve.
• Taking responsibility for identifying, understanding, and communicating product development opportunities and associated business outcomes.
• Building business cases and developing Terms of References / Business Requirement document as applicable and procuring approvals from the relevant Project Managers & Sponsors.
• Executing the assigned projects / analysis as per the agreed timelines and with accuracy and quality.
• Facilitating and managing regular meetings with senior managers, key stakeholders, SME’s, and delivery partners such as remediation teams.
• Contributing to team development, effectiveness, and success by sharing knowledge and best practice.
• Assertively challenge and manage all stakeholders including Senior Managers to take action within a deadline.
• Responsible for publishing regular updates on the projects and develop effective business MIs.
• The individual will also continuously reassess the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices and the impact of new technology.
• Driving and supporting data quality projects / initiatives and/ or statistical analysis within MDM.
• Independently deliver end to end results on various Projects / Initiatives.
• Assisting in the delivery of more complicated projects under supervision of the Line Manager within agreed timelines, as per agreed quality standards.
• Responsible for complete ownership of the assigned work streams & escalation management / remediation.

Requirements:

• 3-4 years of knowledge/experience on data management and data governance.
• Understanding of the financial industry gained through experience or training courses.
• Understanding data lineage, profiling & data quality measurement.
• Experience in domains like KYC, Credit, Markets, and Securities.
• SQL/Advanced SQL, Query optimization knowledge and PL SQL programming knowledge 
• Knowledge on ETL Process. 
• Knowledge and experience on Data Visualization tools – e.g., Tableau, Qliksense. 
• Implementation and Delivery Management.
• Business Analysis - Addressing business needs and recommending solutions. 
• Requirement Gathering and BRD creation.
• High Proficiency in MS Excel. 
• Detail-oriented and capable of delivering a high level of accuracy. 
• Analytical thinking and problem solving. 
• Project Management Skills, with prior experience in managing change, build and implementation/ integration. 
• Excellent interpersonal skills – ability to work across organizations to understand the current data issues. 
• Possess good problem solving and decision-making skills. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Experience of working in a data function interfacing with Global Markets/Securities and/or Global Banking systems and processes will be useful.
