SENIOR ACCOUNTANT Job in Mumbai at LALIT Parmar and Associates

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards (GAAP or IFRS).
• Conduct month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Develop and maintain internal controls and accounting policies to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, providing insights and recommendations for financial planning.
• Coordinate and support external audits, providing necessary documentation and resolving any audit issues.
• Prepare and file regulatory reports and tax returns, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff, fostering their professional development.
• Analyze financial data and trends, providing reports and presentations to management for strategic decision-making.
• Collaborate with other departments to support overall business objectives and initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
• CPA certification is highly desirable.
• Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations (GAAP or IFRS).
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience with financial reporting and analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a specific industry relevant to the company’s operations (e.g., manufacturing, technology, healthcare).
• Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
• Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance.
