Thomson Reuters is hiring for the position of Sector Specialist - Manufacturing!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:
  • Work with the EIC, report and write the top stories of the day
  • Maintain and execute a strong pipeline of follow-up and initiative stories
  • Contribute to news planning and develop and maintain a sector database detailing key stocks to cover
  • Develop sector specialization through research, networking, etc.
  • Develop strong links with reporters and editors in New York, Chicago, and Detroit, becoming a point person for manufacturing coverage out of Bangalore
  • Deputize for the Editor in Charge, Manufacturing and mentoring new joiners to the team
  • Be innovative and flexible in providing coverage by suggesting improvements, challenging accepted norms, and introducing new ways of storytelling

Requirements:

  • This person will be able to communicate effectively with colleagues in North America and around the world to ensure smooth cooperation on stories.
  • The selected candidate will report to the Editor in Charge, Manufacturing, Bangalore.
  • Ability to write with clarity, speed, and expertise is essential.
