SDE 1 (Platform Engineering) Job in Gurgaon at Urban Company

Urban Company is hiring for the role of SDE 1 (Platform Engineering)!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Build scalable and Fault tolerant Platforms in Micro-service and Event driven architectures.
• Owning up core libraries and frameworks for - (Caching, Experimentation, Localisation, Authentication & Authorisation, OpenAPI, RPC etc.) common to 100s of microservices at UC.
• Solving for High availability, scalability and observability in Kafka, Redis, Mongo, Mysql, ElasticSearch platforms running on AWS.
• Leverage modern solutions for infrastructure automation (IaC) - K8s, ECS, Terraform, etc.
• Integrate AI with the tech platform to unlock new capabilities, boost developer productivity and improve cost savings.
• Discover vulnerabilities in our systems and build a fault tolerant UC ecosystem using Chaos Engineering practices.
• Building capability for seamless testability including test automations, remote development, regression testing, etc.
• Setting up the foundation of an efficient CICD process with Robust Canary deployments.
• Think about abstractions, systems and services and write high quality code from an open-sourcing mindset.
• Keep track of the latest evolving technologies & leverage them to drive innovation inside the organization.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent.
• 2-3 years of experience in the industry, preferably Ecommerce.
• Working knowledge of AWS including load balancers, routing, network, VPC.
• Hands-on coding in any programming language - Java, Python, Node etc.
• Knowledge of Frontend development - React, Angular is a plus.
• Knowledge of database servers like mysql, mongo, postgres etc.
• Knowledge of message brokers like kafka, rabbitmq etc.
• Ability to think and design complex systems at High level and Low Level.
• Understanding of Micro-service architecture and its coding practices.
• Ability to bring new practices, architectural choices and new initiatives onto the table to make the overall tech stack more robust.
