Boston Scientific is hiring for the role of Research & Development Engineer!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Perform pioneering engineering work as part of major programs.
• Drive complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures. Work is expected to result in the development of new or refined technologies, products, materials, processes, equipment, and/or scientific methods to broaden BSC's Intellectual Property in key strategic areas.
• Contribute to operational performance improvement through identification and implementation of major CIP, application of advanced problem-solving techniques and access to a corporate-wide technical resource base.
• Guide product and technology teams.
• Assess the feasibility and soundness of alternative engineering processes, products, or equipment.
• Coordinate, manage, and document project goals and progress and recommend appropriate revisions.
• Interface with Physicians/Cath Lab personnel to identify needs to obtain feedback on concepts and performance of new devices and to translate customer needs into product concepts.
• Develop and coach others on engineering documentation.
• Train and/or provide work direction to technicians and less experienced engineers.
• Support teamwork and staff development through a commitment to mentoring and technical leadership.
• Demonstrate thorough knowledge of manufacturing impact on product performance as perceived by the customer.
• Build Quality into all aspects of work by maintaining compliance with all quality requirements.

Requirements:

• B.E./B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Post Graduation preferred
• Candidate must be from a medical device organization
• Must have experience in Product design development of medical device
• Should have done product launches from Sustaining (NPD – New Product Development)
• Should have led End-To-End projects and experience as tech lead
• Good at problem-solving
• Worked in a global environment
• Mentoring, technical leadership and Innovative aspects
• Nice to have experience with single-use devices
• Should have played an SME role in the organization
• Should have experience in NPD, Technology Development, Sustaining and across the product lifecycle
• Testing experience must include Bench Testing, Animal Testing Cadavers, and preclinical
