Reinsurance Solutions Data Scientist Job in Bangalore at Aon

AON is hiring for the role of Reinsurance Solutions Data Scientist!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Identify and extract data from multiple sources into a common format
• Perform data validation, data exploration and feature engineering
• Apply geospatial analysis to obtain meaningful insight from geospatial data
• Research, recommend and implement statistical models appropriate for the given data
• Utilise advanced machine learning, analytical and optimisation techniques to develop models to solve Aon’s business problems
• Support Aon reinsurance research team with their activities and develop novel products
• Become familiar with Aon’s internal workflow tools and integrate bespoke research workflows
• Develop bespoke solutions to optimize existing research workflows
• Translate analytical findings as business insight to stakeholders
• Develop dashboards to display analytics both internally and externally of Aon

Requirements:

• Advanced level of knowledge with:
  • Python or R, or any other scripting language.
  • SQL
• Advanced level of knowledge with statistical techniques:
  • Linear and Logistical Regression
  • Decision Tree
  • Random Forest
• Mid-Advanced level of knowledge with:
• • Experience in Databricks and Snowflake
  • Version control systems used for software development, specifically Git
• Knowledge and understanding of key Machine Learning and Data Science principles, considerations, and applications
• Willingness to work collaboratively within a global team
• Excellent problem-solving skills with an attention to detail
• Well-organised with an ability to manage multiple projects proficiently
• Testing code and adjusting until programs work reliably as required and identifying and correcting program bugs
• Willingness to understand Aon’s internal workflows and the research that the team undertakes
• Knowledge of Apache Spark (Pyspark)
• Familiarity with Tableau
• Knowledge of GIS programs and file types (ArcGIS, QGIS)
