Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Growth

  • Set regional CASA targets (volume, value, number of accounts) and ensure the team meets them.
  • Build a pipeline for acquiring new CASA customers (especially “new-to-bank” customers).
  • Work with branch teams + direct sales force to source leads and convert them into CASA accounts.
  • Identify and tap new customer segments, e.g., corporate salary accounts, small businesses.

Team Management

  • Recruit, train, mentor, and manage a team of Sales Managers, Field Officers, and other sales staff.
  • Define clear sales incentive structures, performance metrics (KPIs), and ensure accountability.
  • Create a high-velocity sales culture — focusing on both acquisition and activation (i.e., not just opening accounts, but ensuring they get used / funded).

Budgeting & Cost Management

  • Manage regional budget for CASA activities: marketing, onboarding, promotions, team costs.
  • Optimize cost of acquisition (how much it costs to bring a CASA customer) vs. quality (i.e., value of the deposit, account usage).
  • Forecast revenue from CASA growth and cross-sell (e.g., cross-sell other bank products).

Quality & Compliance

Ensure high quality of newly onboarded accounts (e.g., correct KYC, right customer segment).

Monitor and manage account activation rates, average balances, account churn, and other quality metrics.

Liaise with operations / branch teams to improve turnaround time, reduce onboarding friction, and ensure service excellence.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Prepare regular reports: daily/weekly/monthly sales performance, pipeline, cost, activation, attrition.
  • Use data & analytics to track performance, identify gaps, and drive corrective actions.
  • Provide feedback to senior management on market trends, customer behavior, competitor activity.

Cross-sell & Revenue Generation

  • Work on cross-selling other banking products (loans, insurance, cards) via the CASA customer base.
  • Identify high-value CASA customers (e.g., salaried customers, SMEs) for premium offerings.
  • Drive fee income wherever applicable (if CASA product has cross-sell or fee opportunities).

Stakeholder Management

  • Coordinate with branch heads, branch operations, credit, risk, and product teams.
  • Build relationships with key clients, vendors, and potential corporate tie-ups (for salary accounts or partnerships).
  • Represent the bank in regional events, marketing initiatives, or community outreach.
