Alcon is hiring for the role of Record to Report Specialist!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

  • Interact proactively with functional areas to ensure accurate accounting and financial reporting is accomplished within prescribed deadlines and in accordance with the IFRS / Alcon Accounting Manual
  • Prepare accurate and robust monthly balance sheet account analyses and reconciliations, including analyses for balance sheet reviews
  • Prepare accurate journal entries in a timely manner
  • Collaborate proactively with key stakeholders, including Finance colleagues and Regional Financial Reporting and Accounting. Communication with these stakeholders is appropriate and timely when questions regarding accounting/reporting matters arise
  • Corresponds to internal and external inquiries
  • Supports transitions and knowledge transfer
  • Act as System Key User Lead and actively initiate and participate in improvements to sustain a highly effective and efficient process
  • Ensure all processes, policies and procedures are clearly defined, fully documented
  • Ensure all processes comply with Alcon standards and policies (i.e. global processes, Alcon Accounting Manual, Alcon Financial Controls Manual, Management Authorization Levels, etc.)
  • Understand impacts to the general ledger for assigned areas due to other intra- and inter-departmental transactions and activity from other functional departments
  • Promote a strong and control environment and follow up on audit issues and implement correcting measures

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, and accounting. B.Com, M.Com, MBA (Finance)
  • 3 to 4 years of strong quantitative & communication experience
  • Experience in GL/Inter-Company with SAP ERP
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office and general computer use
  • Ability to effectively manage competing deadlines for projects in a high-pressure work environment, with varying degrees of supervision
