L&T is hiring fir the role of R&D Engineer!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Conduct metallographic sample preparation and material characterization to evaluate microstructures, phase distributions, and other critical properties.
• Perform coating characterization to assess thickness, composition, uniformity, and performance of coatings on diverse materials.
• Utilize analytical techniques including X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), X-ray Fluorescence (XRF), and Optical Microscopy for comprehensive material analysis.
• Interpret and report findings through detailed technical documentation, highlighting data trends and providing actionable recommendations.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional R&D and engineering teams, offering technical insights to support material innovation and product development projects.
• Ensure precision and reliability of results by maintaining, calibrating, and optimizing analytical instruments and laboratory procedures.
• Travel to project sites or client locations as needed to perform on-site analyses, consultations, and troubleshooting

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in material characterization and metallographic analysis.
• Proficiency with XRD, SEM, XRF, and Optical Microscopy for material evaluation and characterization.
• Demonstrated analytical skills and strong problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret complex data and provide concise and clear insights 
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with experience in technical reporting.
• Willingness to travel for project and client needs.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and best practices.
