Quantitative Credit Analyst Job in Navi Mumbai at Morning Star

Morning Star is hiring for the role of Quantitative Credit Analyst!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Analyze the credit risk in SC / CLO (Collateralized Loan Obligations) securities by reviewing deal documents, investigating periodic data, setting up models, etc.
• Assist the primary analyst in preparing rating committee notes, rationale, and maintaining databases related to mortgages.
• Collect, organize, and study data from internal and external sources for criteria development, ratings, and research reports.
• Compile and prepare periodic portfolio reports for senior staff and identify material changes for research purposes.
• Maintain regular communication with operations and technology teams regarding assigned tasks, priorities, and ensure applications meet requirements and pass user acceptance testing before release.
• Productionize and maintain analytical tools.
• Understand the domain and implement quick-fix solutions to align development activities with dynamic business needs.
• Take ownership of tasks with a focus on quality and accuracy of deliverables.
• Demonstrate a strong learning curve and eagerness to advance within the rating value chain.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable policies and procedures.
• Work efficiently with strong organizational skills, multitasking ability, and capability to meet tight deadlines.

Requirements:

• Postgraduate in Finance, or CA, or CFA charter holder, or an equivalent qualification.
• 2–3 years of experience in Structured Finance; experience with CLO/CDO/MML at a rating agency is a plus. Experience with ABS, RMBS, CMBS, or other Structured Finance securities is also eligible.
• Proficient in Python / Anaconda, Data Science stack (Jupyter, Pandas), Microsoft Excel, VBA, and MSSQL; basic knowledge also acceptable.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.
• Creative thinker with strong analytical problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with Intex / Cashflow Modelling platform is a plus.
• Proficiency in other programming languages is a plus.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as a team player.
• Highly motivated, self-starter with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
