Prototyping Engineer Job in Hyderabad at Futuristic Labs

Futuristic Labs is hiring for the role of Prototyping Engineer!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Troubleshoot and maintain 3D printers and related equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
  
• Utilize and manage advanced 3D printing technologies (FDM, SLA, DLP) alongside urethane casting, silicone casting, and over-molding techniques.
  
• Develop and implement innovative rapid prototyping techniques for in-house manufacturing.
• Develop and maintain effective outsourced prototyping methods for external manufacturing, including but not limited to: Machining: Milling, grinding, boring, Fabrication: Laser cutting, bending, Materials: Glass, sheet metal, wood, metal, plastic, and rubber etc.
  
• Build and manage relationships with vendors, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery of components.
  
• Collaborate with external vendors to establish and maintain robust QA/QC standards for prototyping.
  
• Visit suppliers in Hyderabad as needed to oversee quality assurance and foster strong working relationships.
  
• Procure and maintain inventory specific to:
  
• Rapid prototyping lab needs.
  
• Bought-out items critical for product development to ensure quality and meet timelines.
• Design and develop molds, jigs, fixtures, and gauges to support prototyping, testing, and manufacturing processes.

Requirements:

• Pursuing or completed a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• 0–1 years of experience in designing, manufacturing, and assembly, with exposure to the Hyderabad manufacturing industry.
• Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or AutoCAD).
  
• Hands-on experience with 3D printing and rapid prototyping methods.
  
• Knowledge of machining, fabrication, and material-specific prototyping techniques.
