Hitachi is hiring for the role of Project Engineer - Structural Steel Engineer!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• You will be a part of the GIS Steel Structural Engineering team, you will be supporting the project engineers/project lead engineers to develop project-specific engineering documents and drawings for submission to customers and the documents required for manufacturing of Steel Support Structures for GIS equipment (transmission and sub-transmission systems)
• You will be an individual contributor who will deliver the tasks as per the given inputs and when required need to work in coordination with other colleagues and should exhibit good collaborative skills to complete the task
• You may also interact with other departments like Primary Engineering, Secondary Engineering, Project Management, and Production units
• Preparation of Design calculation (in Staad. Pro, Idea-static & Ansys) of Steel Support Structures for Gas Insulated Switchgears above 66kV. (Contribution to Tekla modeling will be mandatorily required in certain projects)
• Ensure all necessary inputs are available from stakeholders
• Prepare project-specific Civil plan for the customer providing GIS loading for the design of customer building floor, ceiling cranes, etc., Influence of environmental conditions on GIS structure designs, etc.
• Self-review & peer review of documents
• Delivery of designs on time with Quality and coordination with the other team members and project lead engineer.
• Directly responsible for maintaining and updating the documentation for respective projects as per the quality process

Requirements:

• Years of experience: 5 – 9 years with B.E / M.E in Civil & Structural Engineering.
• Hand-on experience in Structural engineering using STAAD. Pro, Idea-static, Ansys & Hilti Profits software.
• Familiarity with codes and applicable standards for structure design (American, European, Canadian, etc.) is Mandatory.
• Working knowledge of Tekla structures is an added advantage.
• Team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge tools like AUTOCAD, MS Office, etc.
• Knowledge of Galvanization & painting procedures.
• Knowledge of international standards such as IEC/ IEEE / ANSI, Seismic zones, and Response spectra.
• Knowledge of HV substation / HV products is preferable.
