Anthology is hiring for the role of Product Specialist.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Feature and Product Backlog Development:
  • Develop and manage Features and Product Backlog Items for new functionality.
  • Present Features and Product Backlog Items to product teams during grooming and design sessions.
  • Ensure new functionality meets acceptance criteria for completion.
• Scrum Team Support:
  • Assist Scrum teams with release planning, functional research, and release testing.
  • Provide basic technical guidance and leverage college management industry knowledge.
• Backlog Prioritization and Assignment:
  • Assign prioritized items from the Product Backlog to Scrum Teams.
  • Participate in team planning meetings and provide advice, clarification, and guidance during Sprints.
• Customer Engagement:
  • Champion customer engagement throughout development via product demonstrations and feedback collection.
• Quality Assurance and Release Sign-off:
  • Inspect, accept, or reject completed work from development Sprints.
  • Complete final sign-off of product releases at various levels.
• Stakeholder Management:
  • Manage stakeholder engagement, interact with key customer contacts, and collaborate with sales and marketing.
  • Ensure all relevant inputs are collected, prioritized, and reflected in the product backlog.
• Product Backlog Management:
  • Continuously prioritize the product backlog to maximize business value.
  • Use customer priorities and technical debt considerations to align the backlog with stakeholder needs.
• Product and Market Knowledge:
  • Develop and maintain deep product knowledge and become a subject matter expert.
  • Understand the target market and user base to guide product decisions effectively.

The Candidate:

Required Skills/Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience: 2-5 years of relevant product management, product owner, or business analysis experience.
• Facilitation and Presentation: Skilled at meeting facilitation and presentations.
• Scrum Knowledge: Familiar with Scrum methodologies and the Product Manager/Owner role.
• Time Management and Project Management: Strong skills in managing time and projects effectively.
• Acceptance Criteria: Experience writing acceptance criteria.
• Requirements Management Tools: Familiarity with tools like Team Foundation Server.
• Communication Skills: Strong communication and coordination skills; fluency in written and spoken English.
• Dynamic Environment: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

• Story Mapping: Experience in Story Mapping.
• Scrum Certification: Scrum Product Owner certification (CSPO).
• Domain Knowledge: Knowledge of the Higher Education domain.
• Facilitation Skills: Ability to guide multiple people towards a common goal.
• Project Management: Additional project management experience
