Product Analyst - Bearing investigation Job in Bengaluru at SKF India

SKF is hiring for the role of Product Analyst - Bearing Investigation!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Investigate a field returned product for identification of the root cause of the problem with high quality and speed.
• Collect relevant inputs from Stakeholders to perform a field return inspection in a timely manner.
• Make stakeholders aware of the complaint handling process at GBI and take required support from various functions of SKF for carrying out an effective investigation.
• Perform preliminary observation on samples, Sample preparation for additional inspection, perform microscopic and metrological examination and coordinate for measurements with other stakeholders and manufacturing facilities whenever required.
• Involve in site visits to customers, Manufacturing facilities and vendors to support failure investigation or investigate bearing performance.
• Prepare high-quality investigation reports with speed.
• Share the results with Stakeholders to lead a healthy discussion and draw feedback for necessary improvements.
• Perform systematic documentation of information with project references and easy retrieval of necessary data.
• Provide comprehensive feedback through product investigations to Stakeholders.
• Participate in ensuring continuous improvement of performance indicators of the projects.

Requirements:

• Good ability to read and understand the product Drawings
• Good Knowledge of measurement principles, Metrology activities and GD&T requirements
• Ability to understand the nature of technical complaints of SKF Customers or Stakeholders
• Good product knowledge on platform products i.e.., Bearing and Seals
• Fair skills in application engineering for Bearing and Seal product platforms
• Good understanding of common failure modes in bearings as defined in ISO 15243:2017
• Good understanding of the Manufacturing process and usage of terminologies in the Manufacturing process
• Basic Knowledge of Metals, Alloys, Composite, Ceramics & Plastics
• Basic understanding of the influence of metallurgical parameters on bearing performance (E.g.: Hardness, Microstructure, cleanliness of steel etc.,)
• Basic knowledge of lubricant properties and their influence on bearing performance characteristics
• Basic understanding of the usage of the simulation process to aid product selection, performance evaluation and modification
• Exposure and hands-on to problem-solving methodology by “8D"
• Good exposure to Quality Management Systems, ISO 9001 2015 and IATF 16949 2016
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering stream
• 2-5 Years of relevant functional work experience

• Ability to work within a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
• Exposure to industrial applications will be an added advantage
