American Express is hiring for the role of Process Analyst - Procurement I!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

  • Report to the Market Manager based in the United States for Global Supply Management, with accountability for cost-effective procurement of products and services while meeting or exceeding customer and business requirements.
  • Drive value and competitive advantage through world-class procurement services to business partners.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance business value through interactions with the supply market.
  • Create and presents compelling business cases for change to business leaders.
  • Manage procurement activities for complex major commodities/services, often dealing with unprecedented matters.
  • Require a strong procurement background, specifically in indirect strategic procurement.
  • Lead the Source-to-Contract Center of Excellence, overseeing the end-to-end sourcing and contracting process, collaborating with the Third-Party Lifecycle Management Center of Excellence.
  • Facilitate sourcing and contract execution, manages contract templates and tools, and enhances process efficiency to reduce time-to-market.
  • Drive impactful results across functions, business units, and the organization, significantly affecting American Express' revenue and profitability.
  • Set an example by motivating cross-functional team members and providing guidance in supplier/market analysis, utilizing unique procurement practices/tools to capitalize on business opportunities.
  • Ensure policy and contract compliance in all strategic sourcing projects.
  • Collaborate with offshore buying centers in procurement activities, transactions, and managing customer requests and issues.
  • Partner with cross-geographical commodity teams and country teams in the planning, analyzing, sourcing, and implementation process.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in business management, supply chain management, or finance), CIPS qualification, MBA, or equivalent is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated strong procurement experience, competitive intelligence, and capabilities across major spend categories, including Customer Services, Marketing and Promotion, Financial Services, etc.
  • Procurement professional with operational knowledge of contract law, sourcing strategies, risk management, vendor due diligence, supplier development, and complex negotiation skills.
  • Effective time management skills, ability to meet deadlines, and deliver meaningful results; skilled in prioritization based on customer or business needs, urgency, and importance; ability to integrate and align with internal business partners in a dynamic matrix environment.
  • Proven influencing skills with a track record of consistently delivering expense reduction opportunities.
  • Ability to proactively build and manage internal and external customer relationships and drive change in complex, high-stakes environments.
  • Skill in translating and developing concepts, visions, and complex business requirements into workable plans.
  • Experience with various eProcurement tools like Conga, AXPERT, Bridger, etc., will be advantageous.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of business principles, including procurement, business/contract law, licensing, finance, and accounting, typically obtained through a relevant Bachelor’s degree, external certification programs, or equivalents.
  • Proven ability to consistently identify and deliver business expense reduction opportunities.
  • Independent and self-motivated with a strong sense of personal accountability for driving change.
  • Ability to lead multi-functional and/or multi-country results.
