Patent Engineer Job in Gurgaon at Maruti Suzuki India Limited

Maruti Suzuki is hiring for the role of Patent Engineer!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Educate, motivate engineers on the creation and protection of intellectual property
• Conduct ideation workshops and coordinate with various business functions for new idea generation/submission
• Work closely with R&D engineers to review ideas and enhance the IDF conversion rate to patents
• Evaluate ideas for patentability and identify/draft key features for patent protection
• Perform relevant patent studies concerning patentability, freedom to operate, Invalidation, state-of-the-art search and infringement on different technologies 

Requirements:

• BE/B Tech/M Tech in Computer Science/Electronics & Communication/Electrical Engineering with 2-4 years of experience in relevant Tech industries – wireless & telecom, software, semiconductors, digital/ IT with patent searching, analysis & prosecution experience. (from UGC/AICTE approved college/institute).
• Minimum of 3-6 years working with Intellectual Property(Preferred).
• Should have experience in patent search databases such as Derwent Innovation, Orbit, etc. and various analytics methodologies (novelty search, FTO, invalidation, technology search) and patent classification, SEP standards & related infringement analysis.
• Candidate should have experience in retrieving legal/prosecution-related information from different Patent offices’ websites (such as USPTO PAIR and EP Register).
• Proficiency in SEP analysis in the field of Telecom architectures (WiFi, Bluetooth, 4G, 5G, LTE etc), wireless charging and audio/video technologies.
• Experience in Electric Vehicle hardware/software, Vehicular wireless communication systems, vehicular software architecture, connected cars, Battery systems, ADAS, Telematics, Vehicle charging systems, ECU, Digital applications etc.
• Preferably from the Telecom/Digital/IT industry with IP experience.
• Should have proficiency in Telecom architectures (WiFi, Bluetooth, 4G, 5G, LTE etc), wireless charging and audio/video technologies.
• Should have a good understanding of patent classifications, standard & patent databases such as Derwent Innovation, Orbit, etc. and various patent analytics methodologies.
• Candidate should have proficiency in retrieving legal/prosecution-related information from different patent office websites (such as USPTO PAIR and EP Register).
• Should have the ability to analyze data both quantitatively and/or qualitatively and present analysis reports to the R&D management with quality standards.
• Should have a good understanding of the Indian Patenting system.
• Should have the attitude to proactively develop an understanding of diverse technology areas apart from his / her technical background and strong interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of Japanese patent law would be an added advantage.
